The St Martins School Whānau group is having their meeting this Friday 22nd February at 6pm in the school’s Staff Room. The hui this month will be discussing the design of the waharoa for the school entry outside the new classroom block.  We are also going to welcome our new Lead Teacher of Māori, Hamish Lancaster-Whillis to the group.

Our meetings are friendly, relaxed and fun, and open to all, so nau mai haere mai/welcome. We start with karakia/prayer, discuss upcoming events and goals, share kai/food, and we learn waiata/song. The group operates to influence and support kaupapa Māori at St Martins School – adding to what’s already happening and fostering new initiatives. We support each other to broaden our knowledge of tikanga and te reo. Most importantly we exist to support our tamariki in their culture. Please note, joining the whanau group is open to everyone at St Martins school.

Ngā mihi nui
