Kia ora koutou, ko Celia Hogan tōku ingoa. My husband, Marcus and I have two children, Luca and Aria, with Luca starting at St Martin’s School in 2025. I grew up in Christchurch and we spend much of our time outdoors exploring the whenua and enjoying wild spaces both near and far. Over the past 30 years, I have served on various boards and committees at both national and local levels. This experience has provided me with a solid understanding of good governance, collaborative decision-making, and the importance of balancing long- term strategy with the day-to-day realities of a school environment. My current mahi is in the education sector where I run my own nature- based education business, and I hold a position for EONZ as their primary school kaiarahi, supporting Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) across Aotearoa. I genuinely enjoy contributing to a governance space, helping to navigate challenges and set a clear direction for the future. I bring particular strengths in governance, strategic thinking and health and safety, including EOTC, where I have a strong background in risk management. I believe in asking good questions, listening well, and supporting leadership to make thoughtful, informed decisions that serve both our ākonga and the wider school community.
