Kia ora family and whānau

It is with a combination of sadness and excitement that I let you know that I have accepted the role of  Principal at Tai Tapu School.

It is with sadness that I leave behind valued colleagues, friends and the wonderful tamariki of St Martins School. I have really valued my time at St Martins School, it is a very special place.  I will always treasure the positive memories that I have of the people.

On the other hand, it is extremely exciting to be taking this next step in my career pathway. As you know, I’m passionate about learning and working with families and whānau to achieve the best outcome for our tamariki. I will take this passion and drive into my new role and look forward to getting to know my new learning community.

Ngā mihi

Bernadette May

Kia ora koutou,

On behalf of the St Martins School Board of Trustees, I would like to congratulate
Bernadette on her appointment as Principal at Tai Tapu School. We are very excited for her and we wish her all the best.

Bernadette has been integral to growing the high quality teaching and learning
culture that continues at St Martins School and the systems and processes that she has put in place will continue for our children.  We will look to appoint an Acting Deputy Principal to learn from her before she leaves at the end of Term 3 and to provide continuity in the transition to welcoming Andrew Mouat as our new Principal starting at the beginning of Term 4.  Exciting times ahead for everyone at St Martins School.

Ngā mihi,

BOT Chairperson
