Dear Parents / Caregivers,

We had a lovely day for the Y3 – 8 cross country this morning.  Always nice to have a sunny winter day with no wind to run in.  Thanks to Jarad Pateman for organising and running the event.

Thank you for the parent support this morning, it was nice to see the interaction between parents and children.

Yesterday, Jacinda Adern announced that we have now moved to Alert L1.  As a school we have been working within the MoE guidelines, for us, there will be no major changes to what we are doing and our school continues to be safe to attend, including any staff and children who are considered more vulnerable to COVID. We have a good cleaning routine in place, people who are sick are staying at home and we continue to encourage good hygiene practices.

We are supporting contact tracing by having QR code posters at most of our entrances – so if you haven’t already downloaded the NZ COVID Tracer app the Ministry of Health’sNZ-COVID Tracer app page has information to help you do that.  There is no longer the need to sign into classrooms, feel free to come on in and have a look at the learning that has taken place this term.

We are looking forward to some inter school sports starting this week, bigger groups being able to join together as well as offering parents the opportunity to watch the NE – Y2 children participate their Huff and Puff run.  We will continue to hold off assemblies until next term.  When these start up again we will go back to our class sharing of learning and inviting parents along to the session.  If you have the time Ti Kouka are also on the look out for parent helpers in their morning sessions, feel free to add your name to their board outside the Whare Kukuwai.

We look forward to seeing you in and about the school.

Thank you for your ongoing support,

Andrew
